ABOUT
Working across painting, drawing and text, Dan Haycock appropriates content from a diverse range of sources: art history, world mythology, science fiction films, comic books, contemporary literature.
These visual and textual references are reconfigured to form a personal artistic language from which narrative worlds emerge, populated with recurrent symbols and archetypal motifs.
Born in Milton Keynes in 1984, Dan studied Fine Art at London Metropolitan University, graduating in 2016 with first class honours.
He has subsequently worked at the Royal Drawing School, and as an art fabricator for a major London-based fabrication studio.
His work has been exhibited in numerous group exhibitions nationally, and his writing has been featured in multiple publications.
He currently lives and works in Nottingham, UK.
